Helpful facts

Anna Morottaja is an outstanding singer and political activist of the Inari Sami people from northern Lapland. She not only cultivates their traditional singing culture. She was also a member of the Sami Parliament from 2012 to 2015 and a member of the Sami Language Committee. She also chaired the Sami Parliament's Language Council. At international conferences, Anna Morottaja repeatedly warns of the consequences of climate change for her people's traditional way of life. For her trip to Usedom, she insisted on avoiding flights in order to travel from northern Lapland to Western Pomerania with low emissions. She will explain why this is so important here in conversation with the Estonian-Finnish composer and essayist Jüri Reinvere.
