A Legendary Hike Through the Latemar Rock Labyrinth

This guided day hike is a special nature experience for young and old alike. Together, we’ll pass through the legendary Fairy Gate and enter the mystical rock labyrinth on the Latemar. The trail is easily manageable for hikers with sure footing and a head for heights, as there are no exposed sections or precipices.

Along the way, impressive views open up of the Rosengarten, the Schlern, and the famous “Doll Procession” on the Latemar. The legends and stories told by hiking guide Helga Egger bring the landscape to life. We climb up many rocky steps to the so-called Zwergentor, the exit from the fascinating rock maze. The trail then leads through a shady high-altitude forest to a quiet, sunny meadow with a small stream. Here, there’s time for a relaxing break, where the packed lunch tastes great and the legend of the Latemar dolls finds its fitting place.

The return route leads to Lake Carezza, where you can relax while waiting for the bus. Those who still feel like more exercise can alternatively hike down to the village via Trail No. 10.
