Helpful facts

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of traditional craftsmanship and experience first-hand how the Schmilka mill and brewery works.

The mill - hands-on craftsmanship

For lovers of artisan baked goods, the historic, fully functional watermill in Schmilka is a real highlight. Every day, we guide you through this lovingly restored gem and show you how grain has been processed here for centuries.

Driven by water power, the best organic grain is ground into coarse flour between massive millstones in the historic mill dating back to 1665. Experience the traditional technology of an overshot water mill up close and let yourself be carried away by the impressive production processes.

Enjoy with all your senses: feel the power of the mill, smell the freshly ground flour and taste the oven-warm delicacies from the neighboring wood-fired bakery!

The brewery - beer enjoyment with history

Gain a unique insight into the art of brewing beer in a traditional microbrewery. Take a look inside the brewing kettles, discover the special features of open fermentation - a brewing method that has become rare today - and get to know the various ingredients.

Let yourself be captivated by exciting and amusing stories about beer. Whether you are an inquisitive connoisseur or a curious novice - this tour promises to be an unforgettable experience!
