Florian Hoefner - rooted in Germany, matured in New York, at home in Newfoundland - is one of the most impressive voices in modern jazz. The New York Times praises him as a "composer and bandleader of sensitive determination", Downbeat calls him a "harmonically daring pianist who opens up new worlds of sound". Together with his international quartet - Lucas Pino (USA), Adrian Vedady (Canada) and Ivanna Cuesta Gonzalez (Dominican Republic) - he sparks grooving, energetic jazz full of surprising contrasts and a rousing joy of playing.
