Guided hike to the Poppekanzel in the Latemar

On the western edge of the Latemar, this hike leads through wide alpine pastures and slopes with great views. The Poppekanzel pulpit rewards you with a sweeping view and a real summit feeling.

Tour description:

We start at the bus stop at the Niger Pass junction and hike in the direction of the Karer Pass. The path leads us steadily uphill to the Pra di Tori mountain station and on to the Poppekanzel. After a break with a beautiful view, we descend to the Latmor Alm and stop for refreshments. The trail then leads us across the Latemar meadows back to the Carezza Pass and on to the bus stop.

Ascend: approx. 600 m

Descent: approx. 600 m

Distance: 8 km

Difficulty: Technically moderate hike, good basic fitness and surefootedness required

Refreshment stop: Latmor Alm

Useful information / What to bring

Alpine footwear and clothing suitable for hiking, rain jacket, sun cream and headgear, water bottle;

Eventual tickets for cable cars and lunch are not included.

The guest pass for the use of public buses is available free of charge for our guests at reception.

We recommend the 3 in 7 or 5 in 7 Mountain Pass. This allows you to conveniently use the various exit facilities in the area. The mountain pass is available at the tourist office and at the Tiers cable car.
