UNESCO Dolomites Geotrail – Stage 7: Armentarola → Pederü

The hike begins in Armentarola, opposite the Hotel Valparol. From the center of San Vigilio, it can be reached by public transportation (free with the Guest Pass) or by car. Following the "Capanna Alpina" trail, the route initially runs under the road, crosses the river, and then the main road. The trail then climbs steadily to the left of the stream, passing the Capanna Alpina hut up to Col de Locia. Passing through pine forests and using well-constructed steps, you reach the Tadega Pass. The trail continues across the mountain pasture to the Gran Fanes mountain hut. From the fork shortly after the mountain pasture, a short climb leads along the old military road to Lake Limo and the Limo Pass. The trail then descends to the Fanes refuge and continues, partly on dirt roads and partly on trails, to Pederü. Along the way, there are several information stations with geological information that clearly illustrate the formation and unique characteristics of the Dolomites.
