Details

The Colomans Festival is celebrated every year on the second Sunday in October. This includes the old tradition of the horse parade, which dates back to the 16th century. Many festively decorated horses take part.

At 9:30 am, the cavalcade lines up at the town hall. Led by the Schwangau music band, it moves to the church of St. Coloman. After Holy Mass, the horses are solemnly blessed with the Coloman relic and the procession begins.

If the weather is favorable, the festive service is celebrated outdoors with all riders and visitors. After the blessing, the riders and carriages traditionally circle the church twice in a wide arc before heading back to the town hall in an orderly procession led by the band. Guests and visitors can continue celebrating in the festival square next to the church. Food and Bavarian hospitality will be provided.

In the afternoon, a rosary will be prayed in St. Coloman's Church.
