Walking time: approx. 2 hours
Level of difficulty: medium
A hike along beautiful Brandenberger Ache in the footsteps of days long gone, when wood drifting was still practised.
Arrival by car: from Kramsach in the direction of the lift car park until you reach Aschau. After about 2km, the entrance to the Tiefenbachklamm gorge will be right in front of you. Park your car along the Aschauerstraße street.
From June to September, you can also take the bus from Brixlegg train station or Kramsach town hall (from Monday to Friday, timetable available at reception). The hike leads along the Brandenberger Ache through an impressive natural landscape characterised by the roaring waters. After approx. 1 hour, you reach the Tiefenbachklamm hut, where you can stop for a fortifying snack or a heart-warming cup of coffee. To return back home, either hike through the gorge or dare the ascent to Brandenberg. As an absolute highlight, you can expect a natural spectacle at the highest point of the gorge.
