When your belly is allowed to dance again, healing begins
In all honesty, how many of us women are really happy with our belly?
I certainly wasn't for a long time and admittedly I'm still not completely at peace with it.
Even less so after the birth of my son.
But deep down, I am
infinitely grateful that I was able to carry and nurture a child inside me and I have also become much more friends with my body over the years than I could ever have imagined.
However, "dancing with my belly" - that was far from my mind and I would leave that to the women from the Orient.
Nevertheless, I took the plunge some time ago and ended up in Dagmar's belly dancing class with the professionals.
I was surprised. Surprised by all the Franconian women who moved their bellies with such sensuality that I hadn't expected here in Franconian Switzerland.
I watched them with fascination - and at the same time I somehow tried to imitate what Dagmar was doing, but admittedly I didn't even come close:-) Well, they had been at it for a "little" longer.
I still noticed an incredible joy in engaging with my belly and at the same time it was a powerful reminder for me.
A reminder that our body is not there for us to hide it or to conform to so-called ideals of beauty, which are possibly still AI-generated.
On the contrary
It's time.
To feel.
To express yourself.
You and your authentic being.
Your belly
The place of your femininity, your creativity and joie de vivre.
The place where new life is created, also in the form of new projects.
Let's shake our hips together and remember how beautiful it is to be a woman.
Without comparison. Without performance.
Just you, your body, your breath - and the rhythm.
You don't have to be able to do anything. You can just be.
