Rathaushotels Oberwiesenthal
The Fichtelberg cable car is one of Oberwiesenthal's most famous landmarks. Strictly speaking, it is a cable car that was opened in 1924, making it the oldest cable car in Germany. It takes visitors comfortably to the summit of the Fichtelberg or back down to the valley in just a few minutes.
The ride is a real experience in both summer and winter. In summer, the cable car is the ideal starting point for hiking tours, panoramic walks or action-packed monster scooter rides. In winter, it is a comfortable alternative to the ski lifts and takes guests to the ski area in a relaxed manner. When visibility is good, impressive views open up as far as Bohemia and over the climatic health resort of Oberwiesenthal.
