MUSHROOMS

Our well-tended and protected forests, most of which are located within the nature park, are rich in mushrooms, a food that is much sought after by all mountain lovers in general and in the Dolomites in particular.

However, caution is advised! Mushroom picking is a priceless experience for every passionate mushroom picker, but excesses in the past and the need to protect the forests have led to strict regulations on mushroom picking.

In South Tyrol, only people over the age of 14 are allowed to pick 1 kg per person per day on even days at set times (between 7 am and 7 pm).

However, a non-transferable daily picking permit must be purchased in advance from the tourist office or the municipality for 8 euros.
