Livestock Fair in Pfronten

On September 11, 26, at 7:00 p.m., a traditional parade through Pfronten with approximately 1,000 participants will take place to kick off the festival weekend.

Tomorrow, September 12, 26, starting around 8:00 a.m., the big cattle drive with a farmers’ market will take place in Pfronten

After spending about 100 days in the mountains, more than 400 head of cattle will be herded back down to the valley and handed over by the alpine herdsmen to their owners at the Scheidplatz.

The herds driven back down from the seven different Pfronten alpine pastures are led by the lead cows, which have been magnificently and colorfully adorned with traditional headdresses. The Pfronten Harmony Band accompanies the herds for the final few meters to the Scheidplatz.
