Hike to the Hämmermoosalm
This enjoyable and family-friendly hike starts either at the information kiosk at the entrance to the Gaistal, from where the trail follows the Leutascher Ache upstream to the sign for the Hämmermoosalm, or directly from the last (paid) hiking parking lot at Salzbach (P3-5), which offers direct access to the trailhead.
The ascent is easygoing and follows a wide hiking trail that gradually climbs until you reach the Hämmermoosalm at 1,417 meters. The cozy hut offers a magnificent view and serves delicious treats as well as seasonal specialties.
The return trip follows the same route back to the starting point. Alternatively, the hike can be extended further to the Gaistalalm (1,366 m) before heading back. A relaxing tour suitable for the whole family, rewarded with a cozy stop for refreshments.
