Gallruth Alm - Hike with Barney

From the district of Nufels (in the Kaunertal), take the forest path towards the Falkaunsalm. From the small parking area next to the forest path below the Falkaunsalm, follow the forest path briefly uphill to the Hahntennen (1,870 m), where the trail branches off in the direction of the Gallruth Alm. A pleasant hike takes you through a magnificent mountain forest to the tunnel entrance. The 996 m long tunnel is a real highlight! (Don't forget your flashlight or torches!) In the first section of the tunnel you should keep your head down a little, later it gets a little more spacious but only further on does light shine through a tunnel window - this is not an exit! Soon afterwards, you reach the outside. Walk uphill through the larch meadows, it's not far to the wildly romantic Gallruth Alm.
