Guided summit hike to the Schuhflicker & Schuhflickersee

From the Aualm, it takes just a few minutes to reach today’s first summit cross, the Liechtensteinkopf. From there, the trail continues uphill to the Aukopf, where you’ll enjoy a beautiful view of Dorfgastein on one side and the Großarltal valley on the other. From the Aukopf, you can see two limestone peaks—the Arlspitze on the right, which is accessed by several climbing routes, and the Schuhlicker on the left.

The trail continues along the path below the Arlspitze until you reach the final ascent to the Schuhflicker. The final section is secured with a rope and requires sure-footedness and a head for heights. Once you reach the summit, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains.

Below the Schuhflicker, you can already catch a glimpse of the idyllic Schuhflickersee, the next destination on today’s hike. The Schuhflickersee not only invites you to take a break but is also perfect for a quick dip to cool off.

From Schuhflickersee, there’s one last short climb to tackle before heading downhill across the wide cirque of the alpine pasture area to the Aualm, the starting point of the tour.
