Sawing Demonstration in Latschau

The old sawmill on the Rasafeibach in Latschau is named after the field name “Mülli” (a reference to the grain mill that operated nearby until the 20th century). The Loretz family acquired the sawmill in 1849; it had been in operation since the 18th century. Its current condition is essentially the same as it was in 1907. The impressive wooden waterwheel (diameter 4.1 m), located in the brick basement, drives the saw blade of the “Venetian saw frame.” It can be visited during these hours
