You start the hike at the parking lot Stein-Bauer, here you can park your car for free. From the goods road on a narrow road first steeper up to the left, then always slightly ascending through the forest towards Gründecksattel and further on the signposted paths towards Hochgründeck. Worth seeing: The Peace Chapel above the Heinrich Kiener House, on the St. Rupert Pilgrimage Trail.

The Hochgründeck is one of the highest forested mountains in Europe and is one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in Austria. The relatively long tour is rewarded with a view of around 300 peaks (Hochkönig, Tennengebirge, Dachstein, Niedere and Hohe Tauern, Kitzbühler Alpen and Dientner Schieferberge).
