More than just a Ferris wheel - the Vienna Prater

If one speaks as a "non-Viennese" of the Viennese Prater, often only the amusement park - the Wurstelprater - is mentioned. After all, the Ferris wheel is one of Vienna's landmarks and is widely known.

But the Prater can do so much more: for many locals it is the city's "green oasis" - an area of about 6 km², largely accessible to the public, in Vienna's 2nd district, which still consists largely of alluvial landscapes originally shaped by the Danube.
