Ingredients
150g stale bread or dumpling bread
100cl milk
Diced bacon
2 eggs
20g flour
salt
Dumplings
Cut the white bread into cubes and put them in a bowl. Add the heated milk and the bacon cubes. Mix the eggs, flour, salt and pour the mixture into the bowl with the bread. Knead the mixture well and let it rest for about 15 minutes. Form the dumplings in the palm of your hand.
In the meantime, bring plenty of water to a boil in a saucepan, add salt and cook the canederli for about 8-10 minutes.
Service
Arrange on plates with stew, goulash, chanterelles or salad.
Serve them in bowls if they are dumplings in broth.
