Helpful facts

At a dizzying height, the world's longest Tibet-style pedestrian suspension bridge spans the valley of the Fernpassstraße B 179, which serves as the bridge's namesake.

Since its opening in 2014, the "highline179" has connected the Ehrenberg castle ruins with Fort Claudia. The exploration of the Ehrenberg castle ruins, located just a few meters above the suspension bridge, is not to be missed.

Ehrenberg was able to lead a peaceful existence for a long time, until the religious wars broke out and the castle thus became the center of warlike struggle several times. From 1971 Fridolin Schennach from Reutte took on the dilapidated ruin and since then has been working to preserve it.

You can reach the "highline179" if you drive from the hotel in the direction of Füssen and take the turnoff in the direction of Reutte before the Lech bridge. Then drive behind Füssen on the toll-free Fernpassstraße B 179.

Leave this at the exit "Klause" and park your car in the signposted parking spaces (KIause 1/6600 Reutte/Austria). From there, a wide, gravel path leads to the top.

Walking time approx. 30 minutes
