Circular hike Zimmereben

Helpful facts

The Zimmereben round hike is a perfect alternative for rainy or cloudy days. Or even if you don't just want to hike all day, but would like to use your valuable time for yoga, pool, massages and your own personal pampering program at the hotel.

By car (approx. 7 min.), e-scooter (approx. 20 min.) or our coolnest shuttle you drive to the starting point at the via ferrata parking in Burgstall (address: Burgstall 380/385, 6290 Mayrhofen).

From there, take the road about 100 meters to the left and turn right at the via ferrata hut onto hiking trail 2c. Through a dense enchanted forest, the trail is sometimes steeper, sometimes flatter, but steadily up a total of 220 meters in altitude to the Zimmereben inn. You will also pass the via ferrata Huterlaner and at some points you will have a view of the different via ferrata routes that lead parallel to the inn Zimmereben or further up. On Zimmereben there is traditionally a free Schnapsal for every climber. Instead of going back the same way, simply choose the Mariensteg forest path no. 2b for the descent, which leads straight ahead from the inn through the forest. A few clearings follow, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Mayrhofen and the imposing Ahorn peak opposite. At the bottom of the Ziller, keep left and hike along the Ziller back to the starting point at the parking lot of the via ferrata.

In total, the circular trail is about 2.5 kilometers long and takes between 1 and 2 hours. We recommend good shoes, trail running shoes or hiking boots.

Alternatively, you can of course rent via ferrata equipment at the small hut at the entrance and try one of the four via ferrata routes. However, we recommend that you always go with a mountain guide the very first time. The guide will explain the techniques and show you how to behave on the mountain. We would be happy to book you an appointment with our partner Mountain Sports.
