The Penkenbahn in Mountopolis Mayrhofen has already started the summer season and is open daily from 08:30 to 17:00. Take the car or our shuttle to Mayrhofen and park at the Ahornbahn. From there, walk approx. 200 meters along the main road to the Penkenbahn. An ascent and descent for pedestrians costs 30 euros per person and is worth every penny. Take the Penkenbahn and Kombibahn to the highest possible point, where a few cool huts invite you to stop for a bite to eat. From there, you can follow the signposted hiking trail along the small lake in the direction of Finkenberg and reach the turquoise-blue Granatsee lake. Here you can also admire the garnet chapel. Return the same way and if you are particularly motivated, walk down to the Penken mountain station. There you can take the gondola back down into the valley. The entire hike takes around 1.5 to 2 hours and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding 3,000-metre mountains on an easy route. Don't forget sun cream and a thin jacket. We wish you lots of fun 😉 You can find more information about Mountopolis here.
