Helpful facts

In half an hour you are in fairy tale land: Linderhof Palace is the smallest of the three castles and is considered the favorite castle of the Bavarian fairy tale king Ludwig II, where he stayed by far the most often - probably because it is the only one that was completed during his lifetime. The starting point for this beautiful building was, by the way, a former forester's cottage of Maximilian II, which was located at the present castle forecourt at that time and which the king already used as crown prince during hunting excursions.

The sights at Linderhof are closed only on January 1, Shrove Tuesday, December 24, 25 and 31.
