Helpful facts

The museum of the town of Füssen in the magnificent baroque complex of the former Benedictine monastery of St. Mang is always worth a visit. Visitors are led into the world of Bavarian Baroque with its exuberant delight in decoration and cheerful colors.

Valuable historical lutes and violins form another focal point of the museum and are a reminder of Füssen as the cradle of European lute making. The Füssen Dance of Death, which was created in 1602 during the plague raging on the Lech, can be seen in the baroque St. Anne's Chapel.

In 2015, another highlight was added to the museum: the history of the origins of the monastery on the river. You can reach the entrance through the monastery courtyard of the Benedictine monastery.

The museum of the town of Füssen is located at Lechhalde 3, 87629 Füssen. Parking facilities: Morisse parking lot (Kemptnerstrasse) or underground parking garage Sparkassenhaus (Kaiser-Maximilian-Platz 3)
