This hike in the Zirmtal Valley is certainly a special mountain hike. The Zirmtal is one of the most beautiful high valleys in South Tyrol with the idyllic Zirmtalsee lake and the Zirmtal Alm mountain hut.
We take our own car along the mountain road to the parking lot at approx. 1,500m (the last section is on a gravel road and is not asphalted). We first hike leisurely along the forest road, then on a moderate incline, becoming steeper and steeper up to the Bärenloch at 2,200m, where you can already enjoy wonderful views of the Burggrafenamt and the lower Vinschgau Valley. After a short rest, you descend into the Zirmtal valley to the Zirmtal lake, which is a great place to relax. Right by the lake is the rustic Zirmtal Alm mountain hut, where the host Max provides us with food and drink at lunchtime. The descent is on the other side of the valley to the starting point at the parking lot.
