Guided Hike “From Renksteg to Freibergsee and Back via the Hochleite”

We’ll take the 1:04 p.m. bus to Renksteg. We’ll walk along a wide trail through a beautiful mixed forest to Freibergsee. With a magnificent view of the lake and the ski jump, we’ll hike along the shore until the mountain trail (well-maintained but steep) leads to the Hochleite. Here, we’ll enjoy the breathtaking view of the Stillach Valley and the Allgäu Main Ridge. After a break or stop for refreshments, a scenic farm road leads us down to Schwand and on to the ski jump’s takeoff tower. We hike back to Renksteg along a well-maintained trail that runs along the southern shore of Freibergsee. From here, we can take the bus back to the hotel or hike back.

Elevation gain: 405 m | Elevation loss: 416 m

Walking time round trip: approx. 3 h

Return with a stop for refreshments: approx. 5:00 p.m. / 5:30 p.m.

Sturdy footwear is required, and a good level of basic fitness is necessary.

Please register in advance by Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. Registration for this event is binding. If you need to cancel at the last minute, please inform our front desk in person at least 24 hours before the hike begins so that we can make your spots available to others.
