Sachsenweg 11, 87561 Oberstdorf, Germany
One of the most beautiful hikes for anyone who wants to explore the Allgäu’s natural beauty at a leisurely pace—without pushing themselves to their limits right away. Katrin knows every trail and turns this loop into more than just a hike. The hike begins at the Mühlenbrücke, following the wild Trettach River. The valley opens up, the panorama widens—and eventually you find yourself standing before Christlessee. Cobalt blue, almost unreal. Just stop for a moment and take it all in. On the way back, the trail passes Germany’s southernmost golf course, crosses the Renksteg bridge, and returns via the Loretto chapels. A varied route right up to the end.
Key details at a glance:
approx. 10–11 km | 3 to 3.5 hours of pure walking time | approx. 200 meters of elevation gain
Gravel, with short stretches of asphalt
Please bring: Sturdy shoes, something to drink, a little cash for a snack stop, sunscreen, and rain gear | Registration required; the hike takes place with a minimum of 2 people.
