Wildgerlostal and Zittauer Hütte

The Wildgerlostal is one of the most beautiful high valleys in the Hohe Tauern National Park. Shaped by the glaciers of the Ice Age, it impresses with crystal-clear mountain lakes, thundering waterfalls, blooming alpine meadows and an impressive mountain backdrop.

A popular hiking destination is the Zittauer Hütte at 2,328 meters above sea level, which is picturesquely situated above the Gerlos lakes and offers a magnificent view of the surrounding peaks.

On the way, the cozy Trisslalm invites you to stop for a bite to eat and treats hikers to regional specialities amidst the impressive natural scenery. Numerous alpine plants and animals can be discovered along the hiking trails. The Leitenkammerklamm gorge and the idyllic Gerlossee lakes are also particularly worth a visit.
