Everyone’s favourite hike up Alpbach’s local mountain

Route description:

From the hotel, walk in the direction of Congress Centrum Alpbach. The path to the starting point takes you through the village centre, always in an easterly direction (approx. 500m). Via the Blaiksteig path you climb up to the starting point. The second stage takes you in about 30 minutes along a wide road (no cars allowed) via the Marienweg path (no. A20) to the Hösljoch Chapel, where you are accompanied by various Stations of the Cross. At Hösljoch, turn northwards and slowly climb higher. Again and again, you will reach magnificent vantage points. Numerous left and right loops await you in the last stage of the ascent. At the summit, a magnificent panorama opens up to you: Countless peaks, such as Schatzberg, Großer Galtenberg, and Wiedersberger Horn, captivate your gaze.

The descent can be made via the following two variants:

Descent towards Holzalm (trail no. 10 or B28) and back to the starting point. 

Duration: 1.45 hours

Descent via Hauserjoch in the direction of Bischoferalm pasture (trail no. A18) and back to Alpbach. 

Duration: 1.30 hours
