Max takes you on one of the most beautiful historical tours around the hotel—and most guests don’t even realize that all of this is right on their doorstep.We’ll start by taking the hotel bus to Weidach. From there, a shaded forest path leads up to Sulzburg—a real castle that awaits you like an almost forgotten secret. Quiet, tranquil, with the feeling that something truly significant once happened here.

Then the journey continues to the small Church of St. Barbara in Tiefenbach—and from there, up the Graf-Vojkffy Trail to the oldest known settlement in the Allgäu. Along the way, you’ll pass a smooth wall of Schratten limestone before reaching the so-called “Judenkirche” (Jewish Church): a natural rock arch that nature itself has carved into the cliff. A geological rarity—and one of those moments when you just have to stop for a moment. The return route via Kreben rewards you with panoramic views of Oberstdorf and the Allgäu mountains before heading back to the hotel through the small Lumpental valley—or the bus will pick you up, whichever you prefer.
