A Musical Nativity Story: "AUF WIEDERKAUN"

“Auf Wiederkaun” – The Christmas Story from the Perspective of the Ox and the Donkey

Everyone knows the Christmas story—the journey to Bethlehem, the stable, the star, and the shepherds. But two quiet companions of this special night have rarely taken center stage until now: the ox and the donkey. In the musical nativity play “Auf Wiederkaun,” they finally step into the spotlight.

Author and actor Huber Wast, together with the band So&So, retells the familiar story from a new, surprising perspective—humorous, touching, and thought-provoking all at once. How do the two stable dwellers experience the commotion surrounding the census? What do they think when their humble stable suddenly becomes the scene of a world-changing event? And what role do they themselves play on this special night?

With subtle wit, lively language, and atmospheric music, an extraordinary Advent experience unfolds—a blend of storytelling, folk music, and Christmas spirit. A loving yet tongue-in-cheek take on the Christmas story—retold, familiar, and perfect for this reflective season.
