The Rodenecker-Lüsner Alm is one of the most beautiful high-altitude alpine pastures in South Tyrol and delights visitors with gentle alpine meadows, wide trails, and impressive views of the Dolomites. Numerous huts along the route make it a perfect destination for hikers, families, and cyclists.
📍 Starting point:
The starting point is the Zumis parking lot, which is about a 25-minute drive from the Mountainlodge Margit. It can also be reached by the Almbus directly from Meransen.
🥾 Hiking:
The classic alpine loop follows wide, well-maintained trails and is ideal for a relaxed, leisurely hike with the whole family. The route runs from Zumis via the Roner Alm, the Pianer Kreuz, the Rastnerhütte, and the Starkenfeldhütte, then back to Zumis. The walking time is about 3 hours, and large sections of the route are also stroller-friendly.

The Rodenecker Alm is also a popular destination for mountain bikers, e-bikers, and gravel bikers. The wide forest and alpine trails offer varied routes, beautiful panoramic views, and plenty of places to stop along the way.
⛰️ For the adventurous:
If you want to go even higher, you can extend the hike to the Astjoch at 2,194 meters . From the summit, you’ll enjoy an impressive 360-degree view of the Dolomites, the Zillertal Alps, and the Eisack Valley.
