The Eventful History of Tratzberg Castle

What began more than 500 years ago as a small “fortress” has evolved into one of the most beautiful and best-preserved Renaissance castles in Austria today. Tratzberg Castle has changed hands many times, endured numerous setbacks, and has been continuously expanded. Today, Tratzberg Castle is one of the few castles that remains privately owned and even serves as the residence of the Goëss-Enzenberg family of counts.
