At 2,962 meters, the Zugspitze peak in southern Bavaria towers over every other mountain in Germany.
To get to the top of the Zuspitze take the Tyrolean Zugspitzbahn (rack railroad) to the Zugspitzplatt and for the last stretch take the glacier railroad to the top of the Zugspitze. At the top you have a unique panoramic view. With good visibility, you can even see up to 250 km away.
Between mid-November and early May, the ski slopes on the Zugspitze are open. Whether beginner or professional for everyone is up there a suitable slope. You are welcome to rent equipment on site. Also for the hunger is provided. There are various places to stop for refreshments on the Zugspitze.
Tickets for the mountain railroads are available on site. The trains run daily from 8:40 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. at 20-minute intervals. The journey from the hotel takes about 1 hour.
