Detalhes

The myth tells of the influence of the elements fire, water, earth and air on Grins, which culminated in the burning down of the village in 1955. It tells of the events involving the "Albigen", who embody the elements, and how the taming of the Albigen led to the emergence of the healing spring in Wildbad, above Grins. Paths and trails around the idyllic village of Grins have been dedicated to the 4 Albigen and bear their names. The walks along these paths are essential for the health-promoting effects of the healing water. The sculptures of the 4 Albigen, placed at very prominent locations, are intended to keep the memory of days gone by alive. The combination of the magnificent view over the Landeck valley basin and the sculptures of the Albigen in the background allows the mind to wander and promotes peace and relaxation. Healing encounters with the four elements included.

The myth

The four elements of fire, water, earth and air are embodied in the form of the four Albigen (nature elves), which were tamed by a cunning giant. As a result, Grins was spared storms, avalanches, floods, fires and failed harvests for many decades.

However, due to the careless act of a Grins citizen, the four Albigen escaped in pent-up anger and clashed. As a result, the Albigen raged in their forces of nature and at all times of the year to such an extent that the Grinner desperately believed they were close to the end of the world.

It was then the bell of a shepherd, which was known to attract all spirits, that lured the water and fire Alb into a crevice. The depths of the earth swallowed their anger and channeled their energy together into something new, a bubbling warm spring, which from then on bore the name "Schellenloch".

An old dairymaid knew of a sacred tree, an oak, whose fruits made a young, magnificent oak forest grow. And through the power of the bell in combination with the power of the heavens, the Luftalb and the Erdalb were reconciled.

Thus, luck miraculously returned to Grins and the four Albigen still watch over the village benevolently today. The 4 paths that also bear their names were dedicated to them.
