The farmsteads in Kartnall date back to agricultural land cleared in the 13th century for fear of flooding above the valley. From the leisure center Neustift we walk on the road past the "Pfarrer Franz Senn Haus" and reach the path to Kartnall, which is accessible from April to October.
In serpentines we cross a piece of forest. After the forest has thinned out and the hiking trail approaches the farmsteads in Kartnall on a gentle incline, we reach the Kartnall nature site after about 45 minutes, situated in the midst of green meadows with a magnificent panoramic view all the way to the Sulzenauferner.
From the Kartnall farms we follow the road to the mountain farm Forchach above Milders.
In dry weather we descend from there to the left via a steep path towards Milders.
In wet weather and outside the summer season we follow the road towards Oberbergtal. From the small power station Milders we hike along the Oberbergbach out of the valley. At the confluence of the Oberbergbach and the Ruetz we follow the footpath back to the center of Neustift.
