A special nature experience with breathtaking panoramic views of the Burggrafenamt and Vinschgau Valley awaits you on the sunny castle hill of Tirol Castle, high above Merano. The care center for bird fauna is unique in South Tyrol and combines nature conservation, research and exciting insights into the world of wild birds.

Injured and helpless birds receive expert care here with the aim of releasing them back into the wild. Visitors get an authentic insight into the important work of the center.

A highlight are the daily flight demonstrations: Seeing birds of prey and owls up close, observing their flight and looking them straight in the eye is an unforgettable experience. Accompanied by experienced falconers, you will learn interesting facts about the way of life, behavior and protection of these fascinating animals - and can ask your questions directly on site.
