Summit hike: Houfa Hut & Eisatz (2,439 m)
Today we set off from the small hamlet of Schintelholz, above Pichl.
Right from the start of our hike, we have a view of the Dolomites, making for a wonderful climb up to the Houfa Hut at 1,883 m.
Now the going gets a bit steeper and we continue along a narrow path to the Dolomitensteig. From there, we carry on to the small summit of Hühnerspiel.
We follow the ridge through stunningly wild terrain; it’s slightly exposed and occasionally requires a hand for support, before we reach our panoramic summit: the Eisatz at 2,439m.
After a well-deserved rest with stunning views, we return to the Houfa Hut and, following a short stop for refreshments, head back to the starting point at Schintelholz.
Walking time: approx. 5 hours with approx. 1,000 metres of elevation gain
Difficulty: challenging hike
Packed lunch: Information will be provided at breakfast – please don’t forget to bring money for coffee.
