Helpful facts

Like many Füssen residents still do today, King Ludwig II also liked to walk along the station path to the Kalvarienberg. The Kalvarienberg summit is one of the best vantage points over the old town of Füssen and the royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau.

You can start the tour at the Lechfall or at the Walderlebniszentrum and walk along the Tiroler Straße to the church "Zu unseren lieben Frau", where the ascent to the Kalvarienberg begins. After you have reached the viewing platform on the Calvary, descend on the opposite side and follow the signs "Drei Schlösser Weg" to the Schwansee.

Around the Schwansee is the Schwanseepark with its species-rich flower meadows, where rare orchids can be found. Continue on the Königssträßchen, which leads back to the Walderlebniszentrum or Lechfall via the Bergwaldpfad.

Route variant from Schwansee: via the Fischersteig and the Alpenrosenweg to the Forest Adventure Center

and back via the Kalvarienberg.

You are on the way for about 3 hours and cover about 8 km on the hike.
