Description
The Plamort viewpoint is one of the most beautiful excursion destinations on Lake Reschen. You can also discover the Alpine Wall on the tour: to protect against a German invasion, an extensive line of defense consisting of anti-tank barriers and bunkers, supply roads and command posts was built along the Reschen border at the end of the 1930s.
These highlights can be admired on a hike or bike tour.
DESCRIPTION
You can get to the neighboring village of Reschen for free by bus, on foot (35 min.) or by car. From Reschen Neudorf we hike to the parking lot below the sports field, past the Etschquelle and continue on path 2 in a slight ascent to the Rossbodenalm (not managed). From there, continue on trail 1A to the highest point of the ridge. In about 15 minutes, always following the markings, we reach the "Panzersperren". After this short "deviation", we return to trail 1A on which we hike comfortably south towards the Klopairhof. Shortly before the Klopairhof farm, we meet trail 1, which we can use to hike back to Resia/Reschen.
The tour is much more pleasant by bike or e-bike. We simply follow forest trail no. 2 up to the Plamortböden. We save ourselves the tedious descent by bike and take the forest path (not steep) comfortably into the valley. We ride back down via the forest path to Reschen (easy) or via the Etsch Trail (bike technique required) to Klopair & Graun.
Normal bikes can be hired free of charge at any time.
