The Merano High Mountain Trail is considered one of the most beautiful circular hiking trails in South Tyrol. A panoramic hike that leads along the edge of the Texel Group Nature Park. The meeting point for this tour is the large parking lot at the sports field in Latsch. We drive together in our own car to the valley station of the Unterstell cable car in Naturns. We take the bus to Parcines/Partschins to the Texelbahn cable car and take the cable car up to the Giggelberg mountain station at 1,544m. Here you can already enjoy a fantastic view of the lower Vinschgau Valley and the Merano basin. From the Texelbahn mountain station, we hike up and down the Meraner Höhenweg trail, past beautiful mountain farms in the direction of the Brunnen and Lahnbach valleys, known as the "Valley of a Thousand Steps". The gorge with its waterfalls and the adventurous high-level trail are an experience you won't soon forget. After approx. 3.5 hours, we reach the Unterstell inn, where we have already reached our final destination. From there, we take the Unterstell cable car down to Naturns and are already directly at the parking lot, the starting point of this hike.
