Talstation Tarscher Alm
Herrengasse 15
Panoramic mountain hiking tour to cultural-historical sights and partly off marked hiking trails.
(surefootedness required). We meet at 9:00 am at the parking lot or lift entrance/checkout at the valley station at the chairlift
Tarscher-Alm. From there the chairlift takes us directly to the Tarscher Alm at 1939m. First we hike up over alpine meadows on a moderate incline. Over partly unmarked terrain we go to the Jochpfarrer and over the Sieben Brunnen we then reach the Tarscher Pass. Over the panoramic mountain ridge we continue to the highest point of the Hohen Marchegg at 2,551m with a great panorama, views of the Ulten Valley and the lower and middle Vinschgau. Over rough terrain and grassy areas cross-country down the slope of the Marchegg where we then meet the remains of the old Tarscher Jochwaal, one of the highest Waale of the Alps. We follow the Waal, or rather, the remains of the walled Waal that leads back on the north side of the Marchegg to the alpine pastures at the Tarscher Wetterkreuz. The descent is then over grassy slopes the old ski slope to the
Starting point where we then stop at the Tarscher Alm and are well catered.
