Hike to the Ostlerhütte at the Breitenberg (Pfronten)

The Ostler hut at the summit of the Breitenberg impresses at 1,838m above sea level with a unique 360° alpine panorama into the Allgäu and Tyrolean mountains. But not only because of the view, but also because of the excellent Allgäu cuisine, the hut is a popular hiking destination.

The hiking time from the parking lot in Pfronten-Steinach is about 3 hours. First it goes through the Reichenbachklamm up to the Hochalpe. Via the Hochalpe it then continues to the hiking area at the Breitenberg to the Ostler Hütte. The hiking trails are well signposted.

Alternatively, you can comfortably take the Breitenberg and Hochalpbahn to 1600m and walk from there along a steep gravel path for about 30 minutes to the Ostler Hütte.

From the hotel, drive towards Füssen and before the Lech bridge, turn towards Reutte. At the traffic circle take the second exit and then after the railroad crossing turn left towards Vils/Pfronten. The Breitenbergbahn is located shortly after the beginning of Pfronten-Steinach on the left side.
