CHRISTIAN NICCOLI
OF STALKS AND FORKS
As part of a collaboration between the South Tyrolean Artists' Association and Sütdirol Gasthaus, Gasthof zum Hirschen is showing drawings by the artist Christian Niccoli until January 15, 2025 .
Christian Niccoli is originally from South Tyrol and has lived in Berlin since 2002. He is known for his films and video installations, which have been presented internationally in museums such as the Kunsthaus Graz, Berlinische Galerie - Museum für Moderne Kunst, Berlin, MAMbo - Museo d`arte moderna di Bologna, Bologna, Cinematheque québécoise, Montreal, Socrates Sculpture Park, New York, Para Site / Art Space, Hong Kong or the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, Paris. In recent years, Christian Niccoli has also increasingly focused on drawing. His drawings are made with pencils, colored pencils and oil pastels, creating new perspectives and points of view. Sometimes he combines different objects, sometimes he changes the shape of an object. Irony always plays a major role, as he loves to make little jokes about human vulnerability. This exhibition shows drawings that have to do with food, mountains or nature in the broadest sense.
