Kiosk s'Raschtl at the top of the dam wall

Lanersbach 492, Tux
The Schlegeisgrund has changed dramatically due to the expansion of hydropower. Today it is one of the top excursion destinations in the Zillertal. But where the azure blue Schlegeis reservoir now lies at 1,800 m above sea level, there used to be a species-rich alpine pasture with the popular Dominikushütte hut until 1965. The hike sheds light on this fascinating natural area as well as its transformation through the construction of the reservoir and its use for tourism. The hike leads along the reservoir and to a great vantage point in the Zamsergrund. Together with the hike, a guided tour of the dam wall is arranged for the participants of both groups after the respective tour.
