Karteis - Draugsteinalm - Draugsteintörl - Tappenkarsee with Tappenkarseehütte - Kleinarl valley head
Every Sunday with the Herbie hiking bus.
You start in the Karteis district of Hüttschlag and hike along a stream to the Draugsteinalm and on to the Draugstein summit. Below the rocky Draugstein you cross meadows and fields towards Draugsteintörl, which lies at 2077 meters and offers a great view of the Hohe Tauern. Continue east to the Tappenkarsee, one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the Eastern Alps. After around 30 minutes, you will reach the lake and the Tappenkarseealm, where you can stop for refreshments. Our tip - take a dip in the cold water. The descent is via the normal hiking trail to Kleinarl. We will pick you up again at the parking lot at the end of the Kleinarl valley.
