Hallmoosalm Parking Lot - Draugsteinalm - Dragsteintörl - Tappekarsee with Tappenkarseealm - Schwabalm Parking Lot

The hike starts at the Hallmoosalm parking lot in Hüttschlag and follows a stream steeply uphill to the Draugsteinalmen (1,778 m), then continues across beautiful alpine meadows up to the Draugsteintörl (2,077 m). From there, you’ll have a fantastic view down to Tappenkarsee and, in good weather, all the way to the Großglockner.

The trail continues for about 60 minutes down to the Tappenkarseealm and Tappenkarssee—one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the Eastern Alps.

Our tip—why not take a dip in the cold water?

The descent follows a beautiful hiking trail and passes an impressive waterfall. We’ll pick you up again at the Schwabalm parking lot, at the head of the Kleinarl valley.
