Description
The Cistercian monastery in Chorin was built 750 years ago as a place of tranquillity. Even though the time of the monks here is long gone, the special atmosphere still helps people to feel at peace and gain confidence today.
The Silent Hour is a time of silence that offers the opportunity to do so on the 2nd Friday of every month. From time to time, musical guests introduce the silent hour*extra.
At any time of year and in any weather, the monastery grounds can be experienced in a different, unique atmosphere. If you allow yourself to get involved, the original spirit is palpable. Chants and prayers have filled the former Cistercian abbey throughout history. Even today, you can find inner peace here.
You will be welcomed at the main entrance to Chorin Abbey. The exhibitions and the café are closed during the silent hour.
