Description
The Forcella di Casies is a deep saddle on the border ridge to the Defereggental valley, over which smugglers used to cross into neighbouring East Tyrol. The hike up there is easy and then leads back down to St. Magdalena via the beautifully situated Almweg 2000 on the eastern side of the valley. A worthwhile and secluded hike away from the hustle and bustle.
Start with the hotel shuttle (limited numbers of participants, possibility to follow with your own car).
Total walking time ca. 5 hours, altitude difference ca. 860 m.
No rest stop in a hut (please take a packed lunch – You can order it the day before! - € 8,00)
