Nostalgic trip to a natural paradise
The impressive mountain ride on the nostalgic Schynige Platte Railway starts at Wilderswil station. On the way, marvel at the deep green forests and mountain meadows dotted with alpine flowers as you pass by. The cogwheel railroad meanders leisurely through the idyllic natural landscape. A short stopover is made at the Breitlauenen intermediate station. A pretty bistro invites you to linger and relax right next to the station. Be sure to try a tasty alpine cheese platter or a slice of the homemade fruit cake. During the ride, you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the world-famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and the surrounding mountain peaks.
Once at the top, you can explore the Swiss Flower & Panorama Trail, take a high-altitude hike or linger on the terrace of the mountain restaurant. There is a great playground for children and Lily the cow mascot will also be visiting.
